Force Formed Police Unit (FPU) VIII detained in Sudan for
alleged arms smuggling. Police will send eight personnel to provide legal
assistance to 139 personnel in Sudan, Africa.

"We are waiting for a visa, no later than tomorrow
night already departed," said the Head of Mission of the International
Bureau International Relations Division Police Brigadier General Johny Asadoma in
PTIK South Jakarta, Wednesday (25/01/2017).
He said police will not conduct an investigation, but would
like to collect facts on the ground. First, we will do is contact the UNAMID later
on to Sudan police.
"We only collect facts on the ground. We are going to
other people land, so we should not do an investigation in another
country," he said.
Of the eight personnel who leave, including 2 of Division
Hubintern, 3 of the Criminal including from INAFIS Center, one person from the
Legal Division, 1 of Pusdokkes part psychology, and one more person from the
General Oversight Inspectorate (Itwasum).
Beside from the police, there was also one person from the
foreign ministry who will leave for Sudan. "From Ministry of Foreign
Affairs is one (person), so not a joint investigation but joint legal assistance
or legal assistance," he said.
